Last hazardous waste depot this weekend in Ottawa

The last hazardous waste depot of 2017 takes place on Saturday October 28 at the Barrhaven Snow Dump Facility, Strandherd at Kennevale Drive between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residential electronic waste will also be collected here.

Disinfectants

Fluorescent bulbs/tubes

Fire extinguishers

Fertilizers and pesticides

Mercury switches/thermometers

Needles and syringes

Pharmaceuticals

Paints and coatings

Oven and window cleaners

Pool chemicals

The hazardous waste depots have proven to be very popular with residents in the national capital region. In 2016, 646 tonnes of hazardous waste was diverted from landfill sites.
