Normally you can see a paved path going between the two rows of trees in Britannia Park in Ottawa. However, due to the spring melt and a very wet April, the Ottawa River is at its highest level in recent years. Some residents on the Québec side of the river were forced to leave their homes because of flooding while others had to sandbag their property. The first three weeks of April were the wettest on record for Ottawa with 120.8 mm of rain. The previous record was 119.4 mm set in 2011. |
